Accredited MBAs for under $20,000

I saw this list of online MBAs ranked by cost: http://www.thebestdegrees.org/tuition-rankings-for-online-mba-programs and the lowest-cost AASCB-accredited one is the University of South Dakota. That school is also featured in the Princeton Review's "The Best 300 Business Schools: 2011 Edition". It charges $368.00 per credit hour

You have been very helpful in this forum.

As I started my MBA and I started liking the subject and career prospective. While doing MBA at DBS or just after finishing it, I am considering GMP at Harvard or AMP at Whaton or MIT exec or similar at Ivy league exec programme. I know it is going to be heavy investment but the good thing is that they are short exec programmes.

Would it help career acceleration? What do you think about it?

MBA (DL) + Exec at Ivy + 16 yrs IT exp + 3 yrs Mgt Exp = ???

The content of those programmes would duplicate the content of your MBA so, if I was the admissions manager for them, I would not offer you a place.

Do you need the *Ivy League" brand in particular? For a lower price than GMP you could take Harvard's finance track masters in management (http://www.extension.harvard.edu/degrees-certificates/management/overview) which would build on your MBA and requires summer school classes.

After reading the following thread, I realised that I should just stick to my current MBA and focus on it and do it well.

Seems like a lot of good value schools on this list. Here's a handful of AACSB-accredited schools and their associated cost:

University of North Dakota
Cost: $11,772

Murray State University
Cost: $13,868

Clarion University of Pennsylvania
Cost: $15,569

Texas A&M University-Commerce
Cost: $18,286, Texas residents: $8,986

Florida State University
Cost: $23,838

The only issue I see with some of these is that they're not always near business centers - which might kill networking opportunities. It would be a trade-off going to Clarion University vs. a school in Philadelphia, for example.

The point about brand name is really important: the brand name in itself doesn't really make that much of a different: it's the experience, the network, the insight, the skill that comes with an MBA. I know you're pretty impressed with the Durham MBA, but I have to say that for me (as a Brit) it's really hard to understand the solid value of the Durham brand as a university that's not only in the top 100 academically worldwide, but also is so stupendously posh. If Britain had an Ivy League, Durham would be in it.
