Has anyone heard of the Smartly Executive MBA program? They say that they're selective, and that it's a distance learning program. I saw a number of testimonials online and the students seem like they have top-notch credentials - or, at least, the students that they filmed had impressive credentials. The price is less than other programs - more like a high-end certificate program. I have never heard of any program like this. Does anyone have any feedback on this program? I am in the medical industry and am interested in pursuing some entrepreneurial dreams I've had for a while.

This is not an MBA, in the sense that it is no an academic degree. It is greatly inferior in content and quality to an degree from an actual university. It lacks meaningful international accreditation. Try the Maryland MBA core course MOOC.

Hi Duncan, thank you for your reply - I appreciate it. When I look on their website, the program is an actual degree program, although it looks like it's not accredited. So, once you graduate, you do receive an EMBA degree. Do you have experience in the program or have you taken any of the courses? Why do you say that it's "greatly inferior"? Thanks for your thoughts, and I'll check out the Maryland MBA core course.

In what sense is this a degree if it is not from a university and it is not accedited? A degree exactly is an academic qualification from an accredited higher education institution. That's like saying you can have a free dinosaur, only it's a chicken burger, and it's $3.

from their own website: "In terms of accreditation, we are not yet formally recognized by an accrediting organization governed by the U.S. Department of Education. Accreditation is of course not guaranteed, and the process likely takes several years to complete. We'll keep you posted!"
