Online MBA in UK or EU

itzmeK

Hi,
I am IT consultant with 6+ years of experience originally from India, working in MNC as expat in Sweden now.
Having experience of my failed startup at time of starting career, I am more focused now into Entrepreneurship or International Business as specialization.
My goal is to get leadership role into current organization OR prepare to launch my own venture again soon.
I am having budget of 20-30k for online MBA for sept 2020/Jan 2021 intake.

Please help to clarify below questions.

1. Please help me to choose from my initial shortlisted uni, i.e
Durham university,Birmingham uni, Cass Business school,Alliance Manchester,Aston business school, EU business school
2. What is the chance to get scholarship from any of this uni, my academic history is average?
3.Do you think if I prepare for GMAT(with 650 score), I can get any scholarship from uni like Imperial or IE business school?
4. I am also in dilemma about online MBA, if I should really try for GMAT to get scholarship chance(Most of the universities have no criteria for GMAT) and wait till Jan 2021 intake OR go with self funding options with previous listed university.

I need your guidance to choose best shot for me. Please help me.

1. Unless one of these schools has a good alumni network in your firm or your industry, you should prioritise these schools more or less in line with their place in the FT Global MBA ranking. Exclude the EU business school, since that cannot issue things that are considered to be academic degrees in the countries where it operates. 2. I think you should exclude scholarships as a factor or a possibility. 3. Probably you will only get scholarships from much worse schools i.e. those where you are notably better than the cohort. 4. Borrowing to take an excellent MBA is an excellent investment. Assess it dispassionately as an investment, as a bank would do.
Why not focus on schools with a strong alumni base in Sweden? The CBS HD could be an excellent option.

Hi Duncan,Thank you so much for your guidance. If I am not mistaken, CBS doesn't have any online MBA and I am not considering in sweden for long term. My plan is either to settle in UK or India. In that case, which program will you recommend for me considering career opportunities?

I am referring to the HD, the postgraduate diploma in management at CBS.
Since you don't seem to have one specific goal, it's hard to make a recommendation. Are you focussed on the UK schoola because they are well known in your home country?

Hi Duncan,I am looking for MBA degree to add in m resume, if nothing. So no question of postgraduate diploma. I mentioned goal clearly, having leadership role in MNCs for next 5 years and then launch my own venture when I have enough experience and knowledge(say 10 years).I am thinking about Alliance Manchester Part time MBA. Let me know your thoughts.

Sadly, and perhaps it's just me, a leadership role in an MNC doesn't sound specific. Manchester has a very strong MBA.

This is interesting. I am curious to know your perspective on this more. May be I am missing something here but what are the other choices you can think of now than leadership/Managerial role in MNC within next 5 years when you complete online MBA?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Though I feel atleast any part time MBA is much better than online MBA, I have some query regarding visa requirement while studying Part time in UK. Any idea if still it would need study visa(Tier4) considering Manchester Part Time program consists of online and workshops. Will it students be applicable for new Post Study Work(PSW) visa with part time program? Any clarification would be much appreciated.

You won't obtain a visa to attend or a PSW visa, I think, since those are needed only for full time courses. Check with an visa expert.

BR,

Hi there,
I was in a similar situation as you 2 years ago and I decided to get my online MBA in Entrepreneurship degree at EU Business School. Hands down, it was the best decision I've made! The teachers are amazing, the course is complete and they do these on-campus weeks where they offer you the possibility to study on campus for a week each term, so you get to know your classmates in person and the teachers. They also organize company visits to some of the biggest companies in the world. This MBA opened many doors for me. I'm now working at one of the companies I visited in Munich and I couldn't be happier. There are many unis to choose from, I personally loved this one! Good luck!

Hey Juli. I am a bit skeptical that you are a real person. For example, in the post above you say that have completed your MBA there, but on Quora someone with your name says that they are planning to apply there because their sister had such a great experience: https://www.quora.com/From-where-should-I-study-from but this person also wrote there that they completed their BBA there in 2019: https://www.quora.com/Is-getting-a-business-degree-hard/answer/Juli-S%C3%A1nchez-2
I looked on LinkedIn to see if there is someone with your name who has studied at the EU, and I can't see anyone.
I wonder, is there any proof that you are a real person? You must admit, you look like a sockpuppet, don't you?

PS By the way, have any of the countries where the EU operates given the EU the right to issue academic degrees?
