Mba on Financial markets

Slp

I would need some advice from some experts .
I am graduated in engineering and worked on the production industry in different Fields (Engineering / Automotive / EPC) as Program manager and Service Mgr - currently Operations manager . Since I moved to Luxembourg from Italy some years ago I am really challenged by Finance/Investments/Risk management/Corporate finance and I would like to move towards this field if possible. Since I am over 50 I am wondering if makes sense to apply to some distance MBAs to programs Manchester Metropolitan / Bradford / Illinois Campaign/or others like Durham / or Sumas in Switzerland (which any way would enrich my personal knowledge) or get some intensive aimed Finance program training ( this would be for visibility but also considering future personal involvement in consultancy, or online Msc in Finance and investments and/or if anyone can indicate any better options to seek from your experience
thanks,

Hello Duncan,,
thanks  for your suggestion indeed, nice input as well as all others of yours I read on this forum  discussions.   I was not aware of Harvard ALM and the program comes from well known
UNI. Very interesting, even if slightly out of budget I was considering
initially (but I am thinking over it quickly and I took contact already for
info). Any other good similar proposal may be at slightly lower budget which
could be well acknowledged in Europe ?
I see so many offers (and I am afraid.. merchandising) but difficult to  to capture the real value and advantage for investing time and money.Of course the premier league is the best but also with higher budget.  -I had already sent an application recently for Bradford UK in the meantime.I have no other possibility that Online Mba – I either will stay
in Luxembourg for some years, but I may go back to Italy ( where I studied and
worked for years)  if I get some better opportunities, also checking Switzerland as work possibilities.
I also had initially considered a weekend Mba in Luxembourg Business school  (2 years fees = 30k euro) but I see it risky since it will link me to the country, and I also see it is not in principle triple accredited and I cannot find many supporting reviews to compare really with others.
In my case I would like to pilot my direction more towards operational
Asset mgt, real estate investments, financial investments, Risk mgt,  and may be later on Consultancy, to get over my years of project, service and operation mgt experience ,  and  after checking some many possible alternatives and all the discussions in this forum , it is not so easy to get a firm decision;Given my older experience I will probably not have full opportunity to get the jump in career as cash back return to the investment, on the other hand Iam also motivated towards a valuable quality/price course on top of my personal
growth. I would like to get some acknowledgeable degree (besides e.g. the Certificate
on Coursera that I currently doing on Financial subjects ..but I wonder if a full
specialization in Financial management done on Coursera online would be great asset
)
In parallel, I am considering to apply to some of the alternatives
already discussed thoroughly on the forums (1.Aston UK /2.Birmingham University
UK /3.Illinois iMba which I read very much appreciated ( but will it make sense
for a work experience in Europe ?) /4.The Open University UK / 5.Robert Gordon
(but not tripe accredited..).
-EU Business school Barcelona, Munich, also has a
specialization in Finance, I and ranks well in the QS Mba online ranking, but is
not triple accredited. Could this be also a possible solution?  ( same  issue
SBS Swiss Business School- goof Mba Online Course ranking ).
-Of course Durham and Alliance Manch. UK or Warwick or Vlerick or UCL would
probably have better resonance (as well as MIP in Italy for my case which has a
high rank ) , but are a little over budget for earlier personal consideration (return
vs. investment vs. years experience, with less possibility to amortize)
-For the Real Estate part (may in parallel to this ) I also
am considering a Specific course ( 8 weeks by LSE on Real Estate certificate )
which seems to be valuable – but also here, after so much reading , seems difficult
to judge how to get  a real advantage and from which accredited Course/University  for specific real Estate study valid for a serious professional use.
If you/anyone reading, based on your focused experience  have some additional personal suggestions, without bothering ,, this will be of course more than welcome.
Many thanks, Best Regards,
Stefano

You have too many questions to answer but a good tip is to see what qualifications are held by people in the roles you target.

Look at the Micromasters pathways into the ALM. It will cut around $10k off the tuition. I suggest you avoid no-name schools like the EU and SBS, which are not recognised as university-level institutions in their own countries.
