Manchester MBA - Modules?

BigD

Can someone explain how many elective modules form the Manchester MBAs ? Incredibly I cannot find this defined in the brochure at all. It lists electives and shows some pretty pictures showing three boxes in a schedule but doesn't explicitly define how many, or from what category. Bizarre.

After spending too much time trying to understand their attendance requirements, I have little enthusiasm to compose further enquiries.

Can anyone help?

There are three electives. Look at http://www.mbs.ac.uk/mba/global-mba/part-time-global-gateway-mba.aspx and count the boxes labeled 'Elective".

Hi Duncan,

Thanks for your answer. These diagrams are the only place where I could find them defined. If we assume that this means one elective per box, then the different pathways
(Global/Finance/Eng/PM) have between one and three additional electives that you can choose. There is also the unreferenced "*" on the electives which doesn't help.

Sorry, but what's the problem? It seems quite clear what the electives are.

They have turned down the accelerated path but still not replaced with anything else.

Tell me where it says in the brochure or website how many electives you will study. Please supplement with additional information about the meaning of "pathways", and their impact on the choice or limitations in electives selection from the defined categories. Then perhaps sprinkle in an explanation of attendance requirements.

I look forward to your insight.

If you take the "global" path must take 3 electives (among the ones listed in the chart)

http://www.mbs.ac.uk/mba/global-mba/part-time-global-gateway-mba.aspx

if you take the PM path you can only choose 1 elective (among the ones listed)

http://www.mbs.ac.uk/mba/global-mba/project-management.aspx

Really I can't undestand your concerns

It is simply the lack of clear statements (such as those you have given) rather than ambiguous this-should-make-it-obvious pictures on the website. Does the categorisation of the electives make any difference to available choice(s) ?

Many thanks for your answer.

Ehi.. I m just reading the website like you and had some talk with Manchester in the past. By the way I can presume that the electives choise depends on the courses schedule and also on which international center you are engaged.

For me, it's totally clear from the different diagrams: three electives in each stream, other than one. The * could mean anything, but I think we all know it means conditions apply and you should ask them for more detail. Almost certainly, the condition is that the list of electives may change and that not every elective might be available.

There's even more ambiguity in case studies ;-)

Just ask the Machester staff and tell them it is not clear.
