EMBA

Jo

Hi
I am in my mid 40's looking for a career change from being a senior hospital oral surgeon for 13 years and having done couple of leadership roles in my Trust.
I would like to enter in to management consulting, would EMBA make this transition easier whilst looking for the job?
I have a specific interest in Digital Healthcare products and AI in medicine.
Also looking at MBA with components of Digital technology, any advice would be great.
Kind Regards,
Jothi

Look at the people who are in roles like the ones you want. Many have MBAs, but not all. There's no one way, but there are some easier ways. Look at the schools that those people have attended, and focus on them. Also do look at the senior leader apprenticeship schemes. A few that stand out as schools with an interest in health:
Bayes https://www.bayes.city.ac.uk/study/executive-education/degree-apprenticeships/executive-msc-in-medical-leadership
Aston https://www.aston.ac.uk/study/courses/level-7-senior-leader-apprenticeship
Lancaster https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/lums/business/executive-education/certificates-diplomas-and-masters/senior-leader-apprenticeship/

If you would suggest an MBA- What would be the suggested options in terms of EMBA/online MBA? I am looking at Warwick and Trinity

Trinity makes sense if you want to move to Ireland. Looking at linkedin, it seems like an EMBA will be more effective than an online MBA. I would certainly look at Cambridge as the ideal school and Manchester, Birmingham, Henley and Aston as universities with strong schools of both pharmacy and business. UCL's school of health business is a wild card to consider.
