When searching before I thought there are not too many giving their experiences so here are mine. I am currently studying the Durham online MBA. I chose Durham because it was the best ranked distance learning MBA I could afford as I am self funded.

So far I have done it all online and the Duo platform makes it pretty easy. The delivery is a mix of tasks/research, videos and then more standard textbook like learning (although online, we dont need to buy any books). The workload in my first module is reasonable but as I am new to finance I have had to go back over a few bits, I would say I spend about 10 to 12 hours a week and I do all the recommended optional reading. So far any questions asked to lecturers have been answered quickly and the staff seem really helpful.

Each section has a section on sustainability and ethics, it is clear they are trying to instil this into us (and rightly so I guess) from the beginning.

I was pleased to see a wide variety of backgrounds on the course I think almost every industry I can think of is represented. As I have done it all online so far and its early days I havent done too much networking beyond abit of intros and some linkedin adding but we have the option to attend any of the modules we wish in person so I think more networking will occur when if/when I do that.

So far I would recommend it wholeheartedly, it's hard and challenge as it should be butwe have been given all the tools needed.

How many long is a module/course and how many webinars or live sessions per module

Hi, only halfway through the first module so far but there has been about 6 skype/webinar sessions and each module is roughly 10 weeks of lessons then 3-4 weeks to complete the assessment

It's not mandatory but in a way it might be better that it was because it would make networking and interacting easier if we had met face to face.

Face to face time is often a great way for participants to develop their networks and their soft skills. Plus, you get to meet the people with whom you are studying, in real life.
