Hi everyone,
Seeking some insights here on what is the best MBA online/ blended model for people who already in the finance field for 7 years down the road as bulge bracket banks Corporate Banker/ relationship manager trying to switch to roles that are more investment/ financial analytics related like IB, P/E, equity research?
Coming into 30 now, assuming I get admitted at 32, I discovered that I lack the power needed for taking more GMAT and compete with people who are relatively fresh out of colleague for M8 MBA. Also, assuming my financial situation would be quiet at worst if I quit and risk all my life savings for an MBA that cost US $130k.
Appreciate insights on what it takes to achieve this goal and if MBA is the rightful path to take since I really feel bad after missing all the golden chance of taking a shot on my life few years back.
Great thanks!

Obviously you are not taking much of a risk if you take a top MBA. Which schools do your target firms hire from? Perhaps not online MBAs. There are lots of great MBAs around but you should focus on the schools that are taken seriously by the firms you want to work for.

Most of the PE / IB firms have established reliable recruiting networks through the top business schools. The catch is that these funnels are pretty much 100% geared towards those schools' full-time, in-class MBA programs.
The other catch is that many of those schools probably don't offer online / blended versions of their MBAs. I guess there are some exceptions (Warwick off the top of my head) but even those schools won't offer the same solid placements for their online programs.
I think it's doable to get into the kind of firm you are after doing an online program, but it will take longer, will be more work on your part, and overall will be harder than doing an in-class program at a great business school.
